St. John Ministries was organized in August 1908. The first services were held in a small wood frame building in Greater Tampa, Florida. On March 5th 1969, acting upon the Holy Spirit, Elder Eddie Newkirk began to work closely with the acting Pastor, The Late Rev. L.I. James. Shortly thereafter, Elder Newkirk was called as Pastor. With a membership of 60, half being children, Pastor Newkirk began to take the building concepts God gave him in business applying it to ministry, expanding the five-fold ministry. God through Pastor Newkirk's vision has birthed a membership of over 1000 members with multifaceted Outreach Ministries as follows:

Senior Women, Women Intermediate, Junior Women Mission, Nurses Guild, Young Adult Usher Ministry, Intercessory Prayer Warriors, Sound Ministry, Children's Church, Hospitality Ministry, New Believer Orientation Ministry, Music Ministry, Single's Ministry, More Than Conqueror Adult Dance, Redeemers Youth Dance Ministry, St. John Care Line, Annual Youth Conference, Tutorial Program, Residential Programs·.The Noah House,
